A Father’s Day Toast: The Classic Whiskey Sour

A Father’s Day Toast: The Classic Whiskey Sour

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to raise a glass to Dad than with a classic cocktail? Instead of another tie or tool set, why not mix him something that shows a little love, care, and a splash of creativity.

This year, we’re keeping it simple but sophisticated with a Whiskey Sour. It’s timeless, bold, and smooth—just like Dad.

What you’ll need :

  • 60 ml good-quality whiskey (Dad deserves the good drop)
  • 30 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15 ml sugar syrup (1:1 sugar and hot water, cooled)
  • A dash of bitters (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  1. Pop all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.
  2. Shake hard for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  3. Strain into a short glass filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with a slice of lemon or an orange twist for a polished finish.

The result? A perfect balance of tart citrus, mellow sweetness, and warming whisky—an ideal Sunday sip with Dad.

So this Father’s Day, set aside the usual routine, pour something special, and raise a glass to the man who deserves it most.
