A Champagne Julep is an elegant twist on the classic Mint Julep — replacing bourbon with Champagne (or another good sparkling wine). It’s lighter, more effervescent, and perfect for celebrations.
🥂 Champagne Julep
Ingredients
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves
- 7.5ml simple syrup (or a sugar cube with a splash of water)
- 120ml Champagne (or brut sparkling wine)
- Crushed ice
- Mint sprig + powdered sugar (optional), for garnish
Instructions
- In a julep cup or rocks glass, gently muddle mint leaves with simple syrup. (Don’t over-muddle — just bruise the leaves to release aroma.)
- Fill the glass with crushed ice.
- Slowly pour in Champagne over the ice.
- Stir gently to chill and combine.
- Garnish with a big sprig of mint — dust with powdered sugar for a classic julep look.
✨ This is crisp, refreshing, and a little fancier than your Derby-day bourbon julep.
