Champagne Julep

Champagne Julep

A Champagne Julep is an elegant twist on the classic Mint Julep — replacing bourbon with Champagne (or another good sparkling wine). It’s lighter, more effervescent, and perfect for celebrations.

🥂 Champagne Julep

Ingredients

  • 6–8 fresh mint leaves
  • 7.5ml simple syrup (or a sugar cube with a splash of water)
  • 120ml Champagne (or brut sparkling wine)
  • Crushed ice
  • Mint sprig + powdered sugar (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a julep cup or rocks glass, gently muddle mint leaves with simple syrup. (Don’t over-muddle — just bruise the leaves to release aroma.)
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  3. Slowly pour in Champagne over the ice.
  4. Stir gently to chill and combine.
  5. Garnish with a big sprig of mint — dust with powdered sugar for a classic julep look.

✨ This is crisp, refreshing, and a little fancier than your Derby-day bourbon julep.
