The Bloody Margarita

The Bloody Margarita

Halloween is the one night of the year where it’s completely acceptable to drink something that looks like blood — so naturally, I present to you: the Bloody Margarita. It’s zesty, ruby-red, and just dangerous enough to make you feel like the main character in a vampire movie (the glamorous one, not the one getting chased).

If Dracula owned a beach bar, this would be his signature drink.

🌶️ What You’ll Need

  • 45ml tequila (bonus points if it’s smoky)
  • 30ml lime juice (freshly squeezed — none of that bottle stuff)
  • 15ml triple sec
  • 30ml blood orange juice or pomegranate juice
  • Salt for the rim
  • Blood orange wheel or fake fang for garnish

🪄 How to Make It

  1. Salt the rim of your glass — think “dramatic” not “snowstorm.”
  2. Shake tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and blood orange (or pomegranate) juice with ice.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a blood orange slice or pop a little plastic fang on the rim for fun.

🧛♂️ Pro Tip

Add a few drops of grenadine if you want it even redder — the kind of colour that makes your guests ask, “Wait… what’s in this?”

This cocktail is tangy, refreshing, and the perfect amount of spooky. Serve it to your friends, raise a glass, and toast to the night’s most important rule: no biting the bartender.
